12/21/10 - 4 Wheelin' Elf

We have a cute little elf that has been 4 wheelin' around the neighborhood. I think her name is Kennedy.

12/18/10 - Release The Krackens

When Nick went to get the boys out of their rooms this morning I yelled up to him, "Release the Krackens!" Let the destruction begin!

12/16/10 - Turtle Reindeer

I brought a reindeer turtle to Kennedy and Carter's school Christmas parties...he was a hit!

12/9/10 - Spider Bite

This is my face after something bit me while I was sleeping last night. The swelling on the right side of my face is 50% better then when I woke up this morning. I hope the 2 different antibiotics and the pain killer help me look normal again someday. I would hate for my face to be stuck this way permenantely.

12/7/10 - No Gray Hairs Allowed!

Kennedy gave me a kiss on the head the other day and then said, "Wow Mom, you have a lot of gray hairs!" I immediately went to the store and bought some dye to take care of the problem. The results are in, my hair is defiantely much darker, but....no gray hairs! Now if I could erase the wrinkles and fat my daughter might really be impressed.

12/6/10 - Dreaming of Carols

Kennedy asked me to play Christmas carols on the piano tonight. She sat down in the chair next to the piano and fell fast asleep. I just love her!!

12/6/10 - Iceskaters

Don't these two iceskaters look adorable? Nick and Kennedy were the only two brave enough to get on the ice during our FHE iceskating activity. This is one of the highlights of the holiday season for our family and Kennedy is pretty good.

12/5/10 - Kennedy's Testimony

Kennedy surprised me by bearing her testimony in sacrament meeting today. It was short and sweet and made me cry.

12/1/10 - Happy 4th Birthday Baby Cody

I have been very sad and crying on and off all day today. It is my little nephew's 4th birthday today. He passed away at 3 months old and is very missed.

11/30/10 - Vacuuming Nightmare

This vacuuming might even be helpful if it didn't go on for hours and ruin all my throw rugs. Andrew is obsessed with the vacuum!!

11/29/10 - Thanksgiving

It was kind of a lonely Thanksgiving week for me. We had tons of kids in and out of our house all week and we were glad to see Grandma Sue, but Nick worked 12 hour graveyard shifts all week and he was very missed. We don't have lots of family that live close to us that we can spend time with during holidays. Sometimes the absence of these great family members is heartbreaking, but it's even more difficult when Nick can't celebrate holidays with us. :(

11/26/10 - I'm A Sweet Lollipop

After hosting craft week and Thanksgiving, Kennedy asked if she could have a sleepover with her friends. I asked whose house the sleepover would be at and she said they were still working trying to work that out. I said to her, "Why do I feel like I'm the sucker here?" She responded, "Your not a sucker Mom, your a sweet lollipop!" I had to agree with her....and of course....the sleepover was at our house :)

11/25/10 - Burn Victims

I burned 5 of my fingers as I tried to put lemon bars bake into the oven. A few minutes later, Kennedy burned her arm on the top of the oven putting some cookies in to bake. Ouch!!! This is why I don't like making a big Thanksgiving meal...it's dangerous for the family.

11/22/10 - Thanksgiving Craft Week

It's fall/Thanksgiving craft week at my house for the neighborhood kids. We made fall trees this day. We also made a Thanksgiving banner and a turkey out of sticks. The kids had lots of fun and I even survived it. I think Kennedy really loves and appreciates when I go out of my way to do activities with her and her friends. It's fun to have such a great and diverse group of kids.

11/20/10 - Wonderful Surprise

This is one of the joys of having children, you have your own little built in workforce. I came outside to find Kennedy weeding the flowerbeds....without being asked. This is one of those 'parent payoff' moments when you feel very blessed.

11/20/10 - Step Out & Fight Diabetes Walk

This is Kennedy with her 2 best friends. We all went to the STEP OUT TO FIGHT DIABETES walk. We did the 3K walk and checked out the different booths at the event. This will be a good annual activity for our family.

11/18/10 - Harry Potter Midnight Movie

I went to the midnight premier of the Harry Potter movie with my awesome movie buddy (Kennedy) and my friend Michelle and her kids. I love going to movies with my daughter!

11/18/10 - Rock Star

This little kid thinks he's a rock star. He's running around SCREAMING into this microphone. My ears are ringing....I think this would be considered underground punk or acid rock music....whatever it is where they scream a lot and no one can understand what they are saying!!

11/16/10 - Ten Little Toes

I will miss the little things the most when my kids are all grown. This is one of them. Andrew always used to put his flip flops on with the toes in the wrong spot. He has been doing a great job lately getting everything in the right place. A huge smile came to my face this morning when I saw one toe out of place. SOMETIMES I wish they would never grow up!

11/15/10 - Lights Off!

My 2 yr. old Drew found the step stool and is taking it around the house turning on all the lights. I keep turning them off and he then turns them back on in frustration. This game is going to end with both of us throwing a fit!

11/14/10 - Scissor Monster

A Milestone! I taught Andrew how to cut with scissors this morning....what was I thinking?! I wonder what else he will cut up (probably while I'm in the shower). j/k He was concentrating so hard....it was adorable!

11/12/10 - Time Out for Mommy

While in the closet, my 2 year old Drew said to me, "Time Out, Mom." He then shut the door. -----I promise I don't lock my kids in the closet for time out....yet :)

11/11/10 - Mother Daughter Dress Hunt

I went on a Mother Daughter date with my adorable little Kennedy tonight. Afterwards we went shopping for a fancy dress for her to wear to a 'Twilight' party on Saturday. We had a really great time. It's fun to have her at an age where we can do so many activities together that we both enjoy.

10/25/10 - Pumpkin Patch

I took the kids to the pumpkin patch to play, ride the tractor train, and pick out pumpkins. Andrew was afraid of the big spider so we were lucky to get a picture of him standing anywhere near it.

10/22/10 - Movie in the Woods

I am going to put a 42" flat screen TV in the woods by my house and we are going to watch "The Village" out there tonight around 9:00pm. I love spooky movies in the woods!!

10/21/10 - Forgetful

I went to the Kolache Factory, paid for my food and then drove away. I didn't realize I left my food there until after I got home. What is happening to me? Oh well, I've changed so many diapers it's only fair that my kids return the favor for me some day!

10/20/10 - Fast Shower

I was imagining what the boys were destroying as I took a shower tonight, so I took the fastest shower ever! When I got out I realized I had already put them to bed.

10/19/10 - Cupcakes and Diet Coke...mmm

This is the sad truth about what kind of mother my kids have.....Diet Coke and cupcakes for lunch, and now I'm bummed because I have to clean him up!

10/16/10 - ATV Time

We got our little ATV up and running today. The kids in the neighborhood had a great time driving it around. We are going to get a new battery for the dune buggy and fire it up tomorrow.

10/10/10 - Carter in a Trunk

I went to get Carter out of his room this morning and couldn't find him anywhere. I called his name a few times and then the trunk in his room opened. Carter poked his head up and said, "my bed, Mom." I have no idea how long he was in there, but he looked like he had been asleep. We better get that trunk out of his room before he sufficates in that thing.

10/8/10 - Drew at the Zoo

We went to the zoo again today. This is Nick and Andrew in the tube inside the water.

10/7/10 - Rollerskating Anarchy

I took Kennedy and her friends to their school rollerskating party. I think this is the last time I will do this. It was mass anarchy with the kids running around chasing each other off the rollerskating floor. I don't have enough patience to go through this again!

10/6/10 - Happy 2nd Birthday Drew!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Andrew!!! We spent the morning at the Houston Zoo and then watching him drive around on his new little fourwheeler. We had to re-light his candle and let him blow it out a few times....that was probably his favorite thing about his birthday.

10/2/10 - Homemade Tent

We went over to Grandma Sue's house for Family Home Evening and Sue helped the kids to make a homemade tent. Remember the days of blanket and sheet tents inside your house....takes me back to childhood.

9/25/10 - Another Baby

Nick wants to have another baby and I can't help but wonder what he's smoking! I think he must forget about the 18 to 24 months of postpartum depression that follow the adorable bundle of joy!

9/20/10 - Zoo Lover

I took little Andrew to the zoo for the second time in his life today. The first time he was here he was only 2 months old. He ran around squealing in excitement at all the animals....sooo cute. I ended up purchasing a 1 year membership so we can go a lot more.

9/18/10 - Break In

Nick's truck was broken into while he was working a graveyard shift last night. They used a railroad tie nail and broke both windows. The only thing they stole was the GPS. What a hassle!!

9/12/10 - My Beautiful Boys

The thing I dread most about Sundays is getting the whole crew ready for church. The boys can't seem to stay clean for more than 5 minutes. However, when they ARE dressed, they sure look cute!

9/10/10 - Patch It Up

I thought I had mad crazy skills in sewing and would be able to sew the patches on my Den Leader uniform with no problem. Well.....I'm off to the store right now to buy some patch glue!!

9/8/10 - Press On

Having 2 of our 3 children deal with special situations in their lives (such as Diabetes and Downs Syndrome) can lead to many difficult days. I put a plaque up in the house today that says, "Happy is the one who learns to bear what he cannot change."
