Day 15:
We took a drive up the mountain to hike up to Grotto Falls. We pulled over on the side of the road for a moment and as we were trying to get back onto the road, Hillary went forward and then decided she better wait for a car coming up the canyon because Nick was following her. Nick had watched her pull forward and then turned his attention to the other car coming up the road. He gunned it and crashed right into the back of Hillary's Jeep. I was in Hillary's car with her and we first thought that we had been hit by the other car coming up the road because we were hit really hard. When we looked at the damage it didn't look too bad at first. However, the doors on the Jeep weren't closing right and we later found out that the Jeep was basically bent slightly in half. Our insurance company ended up totaling the Jeep and Hillary and I had whiplash for a few days :)
The cars still drove fine, so we continued on to Grotto Falls for our hike. The kids were not very cooperative. Hillary's girls fought over the stroller or wanted to be held, Andrew demanded to ride on Dad's shoulders and Carter lagged behind or sat down and refused to walk. It was a little bit of a frustrating hike but at least is was east terrain.
When we reached the falls it was worth all the trouble, it was BEAUTIFUL!
